Prioritized Share: How it Works
For all parts managed locally and supplied by the Sourcing Unit, the SDM will calculate Deployment Quantities for each part requiring reorder at the end locations.
The SDM uses the following rules to calculate the Deployment Quantities:
If there are locations with less than zero in terms of their net flow position, bring those locations to as close to zero first.
If net flow is in the red zone, bring those locations to ToR, if available to deploy permits it. Otherwise, the goal is to reach an equal % of ToR. The same logic is applied to each remaining zone – for yellow and then for green.
If any location has a starting net flow that is OToG or in the green zone, there is no deployment for that location.
Key SDM Calculation Terms:

Term
Definition
On Hand
current part On Hand inventory at the Sourcing Unit; could include the in-transit quantity (see SDM settings)
Current Work Orders
all demand allocations at the Sourcing Location that need holdback; determined by the Hold quantity for qualified demand setting
Holdback
a % calculated using the combined EDUs at the Hub and the Spoke and applied to ToR
Available to Deploy
total part quantity available to be distributed from the Sourcing Location to the end location
Deployment Requirement
the amounts required from the end location (this quantity may not always be completely deployed to the end location)
Total Deployed
total amount sent to end locations
Shortfall
if the deployment requirement cannot be fully deployed from the sourcing unit, the difference between Deployment Requirement and Total Deployed
SDM Column Definitions
Column
Definition
Location
The locations of the parts are listed in order of prioritized share deployment (i.e. the location with the greatest requirement by buffer percentage will be listed first).
Net Flow Before Deployment
The Net Flow level at the end location prior to deployment.
Net Flow % ToG Before Deployment
The buffer percentage and priority of the part at the end location. The smaller the percentage, the more critical the priority. The smallest percentages will be listed first as those that will be calculated via prioritized share first.
Total Deployed
The total amount deployed from the sourcing unit to the end location. This quantity may be less but will not be greater than the deployment requirement for the location.
Net Flow After Deployment
The Net Flow level at the end location after deployment.
Net Flow % ToG After Deployment
The buffer percentage and priority of the part at the end location after deployment. One of the goals of prioritized share is to increase all locations' buffer percentages to the highest equal amount.
Buffer Icons
These icons show the change in Net Flow levels before and after deployment.
Using the SDM for Ordering
The SDM recommendations can be utilized in two ways for reordering as of the 4.18 version.
Manual Reordering
API Transfers
Manual Reordering
In this method, the planners would have one screen open to the Workbench Preview and one screen open to the SDM. For all parts receiving supply from the sourcing location with Net Flow in Critical, High, or Medium priorities, the planner would confirm or edit the reorder quantity on the Workbench to the Total Deployed Quantity calculated by the SDM. The planners will only need to edit reorder quantities if the Sourcing Location cannot meet all the Deployment Requirements.
API Transfers
If the interface developer is comfortable with API data transfers, you can also export Stock Deployment recommendations via API to replace supply orders for those parts. This configuration would be completely automated and would not allow for any planner approval in R+.
