RCCP Results

Once run, the Rough Cut Capacity report lists all the resources and their weekly load percentage. The RCCP uses the projected supply quantities generated in the APM Projected Supply Plan along with with the run rates from the routing file to arrive at total load at each resource for a given week.

In the top pane Average Load % and Peak Load % for the number of weeks specified in the simulation settings are displayed. The Status column will reveal status of the load within the weekly horizon that is set in the RCCP settings. For example, in the view above Line 1 has a Critical (>121%) loading situation within 13 weeks. We see that the second week, of 1/20/2020 there’s a load of 128%.

The bottom pane displays several tabs. The first of these, Load, displays a numeric weekly breakdown of several data points:

Load Table Items

Description

Capacity

Weekly load capacity of the resource

Load

The projected load to be produced by the resource

Load Percent

The percentage difference between the load projected versus the load capacity

Variance

Numeric difference between the load projected and the load capacity

The Load Graph provides a visualization of weekly capacity compared to projected load per resource. The load and capacity are calculated as the total of each per week, not the average. You can use the calendar in the upper left corner of the chart to expand the dates in the chart view.

Last, the Details tab gives the resource's properties.

These properties are the same that were uploaded with the resource and routing CSV files. This is the only place in R+ where you can see the details for the resources.

How to Analyze

Using these three bottom tabs, you can see some key insights about your planning. In the first tab, you can see what week’s a Resource will be over it’s load, showing you that you may need to shift production around to get all of your orders made on time.

Using the Load Graph, you can see a visual representation of where your capacity is against the possible load of the resource. In the image above, you can see the column (load) is exceeding the capacity over the next two weeks, signaling you may not be able to complete all the work.
