About

The Location Calendar is where you can set location-specific work day calendars and is also where you schedule holidays in R+. Once you make changes to this calendar, R+ will respect the location-specific changes over the default calendar.
Depending on the length of the holiday/shutdown, you may wish to prepare your parts with a Cycle Day Adjustment Factor.
Editing the Location Calendar
Adding a Location-specific Work Day Calendar
You should only add a location-specific work day calendar if there is a location with different working days than the work days for Buy, Make, or Distributed parts in the Default calendar.
To add a new location-specific working day calendar, select the location you want to edit in the dropdown at the top of the page.

With the correct location selected, you can now select the working days of the week. Start be selecting the "Add" button on the part type that you want to make changes to.

Then select the working days for that Part Type in the calendar and hit "Save" when you have finished.

Adding Holidays
It is important to keep track of holidays in the R+ location calendar for all locations. It is recommended that you set up these calendars at the beginning of each calendar year. Once set, the holidays will be respected throughout the year without the need to revisit the calendar screen.
To set up a new holiday, first select the Part Type that will be affected by this holiday. For example, your offices may be closed, but manufacturing may still be continuing throughout this holiday. In this case, you will set holidays for your Buy and Distributed parts, but not your Make parts.
Once you have selected the right Part Type, click "Add".

In the holiday pop-up, enter the name of the holiday/blackout date as well as the dates that the location will be closed. Then hit "Add".

If this holiday affects all part types, you will need to reenter this holiday for each type.
Holidays must be entered manually into R+ via the location calendar by location. Currently in R+ there is no way to transfer holiday calendars from your ERP to R+ or to copy holidays between location calendars in R+.
EDU Calculations and Location Calendar
The EDU calculation is primarily based on the calendars and the number of weeks in the ADU/FDU horizons in the Site Administration settings. The EDU calculation is always Total Demand / Number of Working Days within the ADU/FDU horizons.
If you have a location calendar entered, the EDU for the parts at that location will respect the number of working days established on the Location calendar instead of the Default calendar. Similarly the Number of Working Days will be affected by holidays. Once a holiday has been entered, it will become a "Non-working day" and will subtract the number of days in the holiday from the Number of Working Days in the EDU calculation.
Only holidays that have been entered prior to Today will be removed from the EDU calculation. You cannot enter a holiday for a past date and thus cannot remove days in the past from the EDU calculation.
Dates and Location Calendar
All order dates on the supply orders generated by R+ in the Workbench and in the APM will follow the Location Calendar instead of the Default Calendar if it has been set up for a part type at a location.
For order dates, the Scheduled Order Date, Promise Date, Request Date and Order Receipt Date will never land on a day designated as a holiday. There is one exception: you can create a custom order that has a request day on a holiday.
